DELOREAN CAR SHOW 2008

DCS 2008 - Thursday's Events

We will begin the Car Show Check In at The Eisenhower Hotel and Allstar Convention Center around 3-4 PM. There will be parking in a designated area around the convention center. This is where you will be for the Cruise-In later that evening so please park your car and get settled. This will save you from having to move again.
We encourage you to get familiar with The Eisenhower and the Allstar facilities and use this time to get reacquainted with the other DeLorean owners. The facility is a multi functional recreational facility with put put golf, paddle boats, volley ball, soccer, pitching booth, and My favorite the two Go cart tracks. Details on these activities will be updated later.

Registration will go until 6:00. The registration at Pigeon Forge and Pheasant Run went very well so we will follow that format. (Volunteers needed)

At 5:45 PM weather permitting, we will meet outside at the pavilion and have an outdoor barbeque where the food will be prepared right there. We will have a theatre set up with a screen and do our seminars there once it gets dark. A bit opposite of what we normally do then follow up the evening with DeLorean Videos by request. ( we will run through old videos that we have used before (but not for this show) and run them as requested so those that missed some can see them or you can refresh your history. If it rains we can go inside. You can be seated at the pavilion or you can take a lawn seat. We will have 200 pavilion seats and can set up more chairs if required but we encourage you to bring a blanket and camp out a few hours.

There is a lot to do here so take advantage of the facilities as well.

DCS 2008 - Friday's Events

Note: Those who didn't register on Thursday can Register 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Friday.

This is different from what we normally do. Since the area is full of history, shops, entertainment and everything else you are free to explore Gettysburg for its history and entertainment from 8 AM to 4 PM or you can take the short drive to Hershey and see the Chocolate factory. There is also historic Lancaster and Harrisburg to explore.

When you get back our idea is to have each group sponsor some time each Friday and Saturday. They will do things like seminars and sponsor special guests or may actually have a workshop going. Our idea is to have stations that you can go to and experience these activities all weekend long.

More details will be added as we find out what the groups are planning.

The Museum in Pheasant Run did not Hold anywhere near everything we had so there will again be a museum similar but probably smaller than the one at Pheasant Run to include items we did not get a chance to show.

The event Friday will be in the new section of the Eisenhower unless we out grow it. If enough people register we will have a pool party either Friday or possibly Thursday and Friday.

DCS 2008 - Saturday's Events

Here is where any similarity to previous shows ends.

We have over 54,000 sq feet of convention space. If we can get the groups to fill the convention center with activities and displays we may do the car show (except concours and specialty vehicles outside. There is over 50 acres of beautiful grass area to take advantage of.

We will line the cars up in a huge circle. At noon we will all gather by our cars and have a 360 degree photo taken of the cars. After that we will do as we did in Memphis and in people spell out either DMC or I hope DeLorean (in both upper and lower case we love a challenge), A helicopter will be there to photograph us.

After that we have not determined yet (based on vendor and group requirements) if we will move everything inside or do the show both inside and out.
But this view will be spectacular.

The initial layout shows the cars three circle layers deep and the renditions look great.
You then have the day to do the vendors and activities.

We plan to have contest amongst the groups ( people not associated with a group will be formed into a group.

DCS 2008 - Sunday's Events

Sunday is for you to say your goodbyes and to check out and do the things you did not have a chance to do earlier.

Have a good and safe trip home.
